Hair Restoration
FUE technique
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction Unit) hair restoration is a surgical technique to transplant hairs. It is the result of years of research how to transplant hairs in the most natural way, to get natural results without visible scars after the intervention.
What is a Follicular Unit?
It is a set of one, two, three or more hairs how the hair grows. Although the accepted view is that each hair grows independently, it is true that they are grouped together and grow in these units.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction Unit) hair restoration is a surgical technique to transplant hairs. It is the result of years of research how to transplant hairs in the most natural way, to get natural results without visible scars after the intervention.
FUE technique is based on the follicular unit transplantation, which imitates best natural growth of hair. Such units are extracted and transplanted to where is neccessary in a certain direction, at a certain angle, distribution and density. This is the way how to make the most natural look.
The extraction of a follicular units from donor area is done by using a special device called Neograft. Each follicular unit can be extracted automatically by using a circular punch of 0.8, 0.9 or 1.0 mm in diameter. This results in providing grafts that contain one, two, three or more hairs. Microsurgical blade makes incisions on recipient area where the follicular units are implanted. Implantation is done with forceps or a vacuum device which implants the grafts.
Advantages of FUE Hair restoration
- no visible scar on donor area after the procedure
- no sutures on donor area. Very small holes heal spontaneously (per secundam) within the first 24 hours
- no trauma to the surrounding donor area-method is less invasive than the other techniques. Neograft device automatically harvests grafts from the donor area. This does no damage neither to the grafts nor to the surrounding area, which may be donor area for the following procedure, if necessary. It does not interfere with the growth of the surrounding hairs on donor area.
- painless for the patient. It is done under local anesthesia so there is no pain during the procedure nor after. No damage to the deep subcutaneous nerves
- it is possible to repeat the procedure. Donor area is usually dense enough, heals quickly and can provide grafts for the next procedure
- the hair is transplanted in the most natural way in the sets of follicular units and has a natural look
- direction, distribution and density of the „new“ hair is completely natural
- very quick recovery after the procedure.
